Finite-etale morphisms across nilpotent base change
Formal etaleness makes morphisms lift uniquely across nilpotent thickenings. Using the canonical identification (R ⧸ I) ⊗[R] B ≃ B ⧸ I B, this gives full faithfulness of finite-etale base change along a nilpotent quotient.
